What is sublimation?

Sublimation, as a process, is really very simple. It is the method of applying an image to specially coated substrates (ceramics, metals and polyester cloth), using three main ingredients: sublimation ink, heat and pressure. Dye-sublimation inks are converted to a vapor when transferred under heat and pressure, chemically bonding with the fabric or the polymer coating on a hard surface object.  The inks penetrate below the surface and become permanent to the substrate.
